Several chapter members just finished up their first Kern County Fair which was held from September 21^st to October 1^st, 2006. Seventeen FFA students exhibited numerous projects including, market and breeding sheep, hogs and goats, as well as, chickens, pigmy goats, dairy cattle and even photography. Frontier FFA members walked away with some outstanding awards for their accomplishments. Brittney Barnett received Champion FFA showmanship in halter horse, Champion FFA showmanship in breeding sheep, 1^st place pair of spring and yearling ewe lambs, and was second in the FFA Round Robin competition. Hannah Goehring placed 3^rd in the cross/Suffolk market lamb class and placed in the top ten for showmanship. Nicole Keeter had 3^rd with her market lambs, second with her Hampshire hog and made the cut for both lamb and hog showmanship. Samantha Church took 5^th in Senior Showmanship with her pigmy goat, 2^nd in the market Hampshire class, 6^th in the Duroc market class and 5^th in the Duroc barrow show. Mandy Downs placed 8^th in Kern Bred and Fed market lamb class and 6^th in goat showmanship. Amanda Rush received “best of Show” with her rooster and placed 4^th in meat goats. Jacob Rutledge was 1st with his Duroc gilt and 3^rd in showmanship. Shantelle Taylor was first in her market sheep class, made the cut in showmanship and took first place in Kern Bred and Fed. Gina Holms was in the top 18 with her Springer dairy heifer, exhibited the Supreme Champion gilt and was 3^rd in senior showmanship. Lee Yantis received 1^st and 2^nd place in the Hampshire and Speckeled lamb classes, 2^nd in Kern Bred and Fed, 1^st place in Ladies Lead receiving the 100% Wool Award. Amanda Rudnick had the Reserve Champion ewe lamb,  2^nd place with her spring ewe, Reserve Champion ram, 4^th place in market lamb class and 1^st and 2^nd with her pygmy goats. Rachel Hicks had the reserve champion AOB lamb and placed 7^th with her Hampshire lamb. Chelsea Morris received 1^st in class with breeding ewe, 4^th in breeding showmanship, 1^st in market lamb class, 2^nd in meat goat class and 3^rd in meat goat showmanship. Leah Hicks had 3^rd with her natural lamb and 4^th in her Hampshire lamb class. Austin Roach placed 3^rd in his market Hampshire Lamb Class.
